		<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">I never felt so lost before and so unsettled. Who said being an adult was easy? When we were young, all we wanted to do was to grow up. Have no one tell us what to do, make our own decisions and do whatever we want. But who said that was easy. Life grown up may just be as miserable as when we were told </span><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">no</span></i><span style="font-weight: 400;"> as a kid because now we are telling ourselves no to something because we know it&#8217;s not the right decision, whether it&#8217;s a career, relationships, or even eating ice cream before dinner. How do we get out of the rut? Feeling so unsettled! Does it ever go away? Does it ever get better? </span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">I feel so much better writing. Maybe that’s why I love writing stories. But what’s the point of writing if it can’t be shared. Take a leap of faith and now I am here in front of you as you read this! </span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The best way for me to get out of a rut and try to move one, is journaling. Journaling has been a journey of self-reflection, thoughts and moods. Although I&#8217;m not consistent, it still helps to find a moment of calmness. Eliminating any noise and distraction, it gives me five minutes of peace and tranquility.  </span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">With journaling, I can express my thoughts, challenges and even some ideas &#8211; turning a blank page into a scribbled document &#8211; well, that’s encouraging. With the everyday struggles of life, sometimes it’s easier to undermine your mind and just keep going, ignoring the build up of feelings whether it’s anxiety, depression or frustration. When you pick up the pen and write you can put your thoughts in order &#8211; decluttering your mind. From the very first word you write, to the very end of your sentence &#8211; you will see a pattern forming, thoughts developing and solutions become clearer. This brings you a sense of calm within the chaos. In every word that you write, you are present, reflecting on the day&#8217;s events and it makes you appreciate something. With journaling, you are taking the first step to a positive approach for your mental wellbeing by being mindfully aware. Moreover, you have released your inner creativity &#8211; journaling is not all about words but it can be about doodles and sketches or even the array of colours you chose to write with. You can brainstorm your ideas, write down your dreams and plan your next big thing. </span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">I love using a journal that is nice to look at. It makes the writing experience more fun. 		<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">As the day goes dark and it’s nearly time for night night. Not a soul is out on the street, all are in their homes, what are they doing one may ask? Well, that’s easy. They are indulging in their evening self-care routine!</span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;"> </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">As dinner ends, I gently wind-down. I begin by slowing my pace and finish up the dishes. I like to indulge in aromatherapy using calming scents of lavender or chamomile essential oils. One drop in a diffuser and it helps to create a tranquil atmosphere, ready for relaxation. I like to treat myself on the weekends to a warm bubble bath filled with epsom salts, essential oils and some rose petals. We are royal, aren’t we? The hot bath washes away the stress from the week, leaving me fresh and renewed. </span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">I do like to disconnect from the screen at least an hour before bedtime to give my eyes a break and a mind to relax. Although sometimes, I do get obsessed with binge watching my favourite shows, I know my body is tired and thus, be strict on myself to turn off any blue screen devices. </span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">I change into my cozy pajamas, something soft and comfortable marks the transition that soon it will be bedtime. I warm the kettle, placing a chamomile tea bag or a hibiscus tea bag in my teacup &#8211; soothing me from the inside for a restful night. </span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">As I lay in bed, I like to take a few minutes to practice mindful breathing, inhaling the calm and exhaling the tension. This helps to present me in the present moment. </span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">I dim the lights opting for a softer warm tone so that it’s not hard on my eyes and it signals to my brain that it’s time to wind down. I keep a journal by my bedside and jot down some thoughts that come to mind or any stressors where I can release whatever my mind has been holding on to. </span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">At last, I hold my book and smell the pages. Something on paper filled with stories allows me to transition to the full state of relaxation. I change up my books &#8211; sometimes it’s novels, self-help or a classic. Anything of interest. </span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Finally, when my yawns appear to be present, I place the book on my side table, flop my pillow down and hit the lights for a restorative sleep. </span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Good Night!
