Welcome to Self-Doubt Island! Did someone say Imposter Syndrome?
Welcome to Self-Doubt Island, Rakstars. Were all your worries, nightmares and failures are living to haunt you?
Has this ever happened to you?
Self-doubt has echoed beyond your core, rattling and shaking you so hard that you don’t even know whether to turn left or right or keep going straight, but by all means, maybe it’s better to just go backwards.
You feel alone, surrounded by yourself and your mind. Self-Doubt is a casual way of feeling like an imposter. Thus, Imposter Syndrome is on the rise.
But what does it really mean? Why do we feel this way?
Maybe it has to do with childhood experiences or the lack of confidence with ourselves. The glass is always half full – we warn but when we compare ourselves to others, the glass is full for them. But is it really?
Do we measure ourselves on a paradox of unworthy, biased measures? Do we really know something? Should we really be doubtful of something even if….even if…we sabotage ourselves.
It goes without saying – that maybe self-doubt is a way of procrastinating – making sure you don’t change.
Change is another topic that we hate, but what if that’s the reason why we self-doubt – we go into a spiral of sabotaging ourselves only to lead to procrastination.
How can we rip self-doubt into shreds? Only one thing and one thing only can help us… answer the question: What is holding you back?
Once you have the answer (most of the time the answer is fear). Take a deep breath.
Now write down what are your fears. Are they tangible or intangible? What is the solution to these fears? Are you good with the solution?
If so, ditch self-doubt and jump in that water and swim away from Self-doubt island.
Still in worry, break down the fear, talk to others, research online and then let your mind be at ease.
Now ask yourself this: What is worse self-doubt or regret?
(Most of the time the answer is Regret.)
So think, would you live a life of regret or live a life of trying and overcoming those sabotaging self doubt procrastinating fears?
The choice is ultimately yours.
